Yes, but the point of the AT is to keep you lazy, right? I bothered with the paddles for 1 month after break-in. After that frankly I simply did not bother with them. I am just enjoying being lazy:). They seem to be useful only in ghat sections, where the AT's grade control is too lazy too.

Pfft, for me, the whole point of driving the car is Pure Exhilaration. It helps me keep my blood pressure down in the city and it raises my adrenalin levels in the open roads :D

Did you try the S mode without paddles?

What kind of fuel efficiency can I expect from a manual in Pune city, with all the traffic.
I am talking about the worst case scenario.
Oh and yes driving this car(on open roads with lots of turns) is pure exhilaration, and very much de-stressing after a long day at work.

Of course. S mode without paddles is great for uphill ghats clap:. I was also surprised by its grip on twisty roads. I thought its long length will go against this. But it is actually quite good and you can merrily throw it around. But IMO to do real nice, it needs 215 tires :D.

Actually AT is better since the gearing is very tall compared to a MT for the Civic. (Source from old Overdrive mag).
At 74 kmph, engine speed is only 1,500 rpm in fifth gear. Can anyone with an MT please confirm the engine speed at the same speed in fifth gear?

Checked the same today on my MT. 60kmph in 5th - 1500RPM, 70kmph in 5th -1800RPM. 70Kmph in 4th - 2400RPM.

If I get some time, then I will get the speed vs RPM curve with my OBD tool and post.

Regarding FE, just did a drive to Kodai. Got around 12kmph on the ghat section. Civic is simply amazing...low cost of ownership, and lots of good feel. Love 'em

Have anybody changed the brake pads for Civic. How long do they normally last? I see that almost half is still left on my pads. My car did 25K. Is it also mandatory to change the discs as well along with the pads?

You don't need to change the discs as long as they have the requisite thickness left. You may have to skim it to make sure the surface is even, but that's about it.

Could you PM me about your ELM327? Details like where/how much for you bought it for/software would be nice.

Worst case scenario with pretty aggressive driving should give you an FE of about 8.5 - 9 kmpl. That's what I get. The best I've got is close to 16 on the expressway driving steady without exceeding 120kmph.

During my 30K servicing, my mech told me that I'll have to change brake pads in another 4-5K kms. Plan to order performance pads from the US. It's not mandatory to change the discs, as has been mentioned already.

MY civvys 30k service is approaching. All this while I had been servicing at Dakshin Honda. Guys were ok, but a bit lethargic to tasks told.

How is whitefield honda near krishnarajapuram? Any contacts there could be a great help.

Civic is doing good, started giving a bit better mileage of around 12 in city!
