Today, I am getting Hydraulic Mounting changed again. Is it same as "dog mount at the top with hydraulic fluid" ?

First I got it done under warranty at 21k kms after 2 years of purchase.

Now again, it needs to be changed at 36.5k kms after 3.5 years of purchase.

I have been told that it is not covered under extended warranty whereas at the time of selling extended warranty, I was told that everything will be covered in extended warranty as original warranty except audio system.

Don't know it is actually covered or not or they are trying to fleece money.

I complained about front right suspension noise and they diagnosed as this issue. Ordered part for warranty replacement right away. The entire staff changed by the time the part arrived and it was given to another car. Another month later, it arrived again finally and was changed.

It says rubber parts not covered in the extended warranty, so technically it probably isn't covered.

Yes, it is the hydraulic mount that goes. Sorry to hear it's coming repeatedly.

Actually, I asked them to change it. The sound was coming for last few months and 2 different Honda Workshops had spent 2 full days to diagnose the problem and they could not.

So, based on my own experience and study on the net, I was 90% sure that this is because of Hydraulic mounting. So, I told Service Manager that the problem has been diagnosed by other workshop but they did not have this mounting in their stock. So, just please replace it.

They replaced it and voila, the sound is gone.

Very happy to have peace of mind at Rs.7,244/- (6692 part + 552 labor).

This problem is with earlier version of civic i.e. 06 or it is in all models.
I have feb 08 civic and till now in 27K run I don't have faced any such issue....
Just curious to know If I have to be cautious?

I have a September 2008 Civic and had to change the mounts at ~16k KMs and 1 year in.

I don't think being cautious will stave off the problem. You have a bad mount or you don't.

Hi all
I have completed 27K on my civic and tyres are wearing out faster than normal... I have got my alignment checked and it is fine may be the stock Bridgestone B250 is not god enough for indian road. I drive normally 110-120 on highway and 65% is highway run.
Can anyone suggest me a good set of tyre, I am not very keen on upsizing unless there is definite increase in handelling, Tyres should be good in handelling also should last if not more then 50K.

Also is there any problem in civic for its tyre wear out faster than other cars? I know few people who owns corolla and skoda tyre life is at least 45-50K in those cases.

Dont know. My civic'c stock Good year NCT5 is still going strong at 44K

I do a lot of hill and highway driving (AT).
My first set, NCT5 lasted 28K.
Second set Michelin MXV8 lasted 25K.
My third set is now Michelin Primacy LC.
Earlier I used to rotate at 10K, now I plan to do it at 5K.

Uneven wear can be attributed to wheel alignment/balancing issues. Otherwise, its just the driving style and roads and nothing else; doesn't matter which car. I believe, cars like Corolla, Laura, Optra etc... are not driven as hard as a Civic. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Laura TSI sees new tires every 20k!.
