I got my pads from him too, I can vouch for this Gentleman.
Extremely fast and professional, Paid and within 3 days I had the pads with me.
How much did you pay for the Brembos ? Also did the package come for front and back sets as well ?

Not sure as how stickers are going to affect the sound ? Earlier I had used sticker weights & the normal weights, found no difference at all.
Anyways I'll try changing the weights to normal ones instead of stickers & let you know regarding the same.

Nopes, it's once again 6K each for the rotors.

This was long ago, remember paying around 3,000 For the front and 3,000 for the rear pads.

The front and rear pads come separately. You can buy either or both.

Wheel alignment weights have no relation to sound. IF you hear any noise from the from wheels then you can trace back the sound to the calipers or wheel bearings.

Original Rotors at Honda are close to 5,500 + taxes + fitting charges.

I had once changed both the front rotors and pads at HASS, Verna, Goa for under 10K, but that was 5 years ago . At today's rates it should well be north of 18K

re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

I had a visit to the authorized honda dealer to get my accord checked up and to know the cost of rear struts. The HASS quoted an astonishing 35000 for a pair of struts. There was some power steering leak from the steering box.I generally top up once in a while the fluid.I asked the advisor if he could replace the seals. He said they don't do it and quoted i think some 60000 for it and with other sundry items including suspension bushes, labour etc a grand total of 200000.He also offered to get original honda spares outside the system and for the struts quoted 19000.I also enquired with Jatin of wagenwerkz and he quoted a price of 9500 for a pair of struts. He says the struts are imported and the brand is tokico.I asked the honda guy the difference. He says the ones available in the open market are the reconditioned ones or the ones from scrapped cars.I had replaced the struts a year before and the struts had honda markings, bar code etc.

Some thing happened after I installed the rotors and stock pads back . I started to see lines again. Went back next day and installed new Brembo pads. The stock pads were the culprit.

Captain slow, the brakes are bedding in now, no sound and its braking good. Cost for front Brembo pads were 3500 rs and rear set was 3000, including taxes and shipping.

I am missing 2 off these air vent adjusters, Is there any place I can buy/order these ? HASS suggested to change entire airvent

Information on Front Suspension

I have gone through some suspension overhauling and have some information which I thought would be useful if shared, since there is a lot of discussions currently going on about Civic's suspension, and given that the car was introduced 9 years ago - we will come to think about this sooner or later.

The pictures of the components are from my civvy, stock ones which are getting replaced. This picture would give you a feel of the OEM components and can be used as a reference for your parts procurement / inspection.

Main components for the front suspension
Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos-dsc_8786.jpg

A - Lower Arm (A1 and A2 are Lower Arm Bushes)
B - Lower Arm Ball Joint
C - Stabilizer Link Rod
D - Steering Ball Joint
E - Tie Rod End

All these components are required at each side - Front Right and Front Left.

Normally lower arms (A) need not be changed, they are built really well. The bushes (A1 and A2) will deteriorate over time and get cut (A2 mostly). These bushes can be sourced and pressed into the existing Lower Arm using a lathe. If your Lower Arms are not damaged or bent, you can chose to just replace the bushes.

Not shown in the picture are
F - Stabilizer (Balancing Rod)
G - Stabilizer Rod Bushes (2 Cut Bushes)

Other than these there is the Shock absorber at both sides, which contains

1. Strut Mount
2. Strut Bearings
3. Strut Bushes
4. Strut
5. Coil (Spring)

Here also you can chose to change the complete shock absorber assembly of these 5 items, or go component by component based on the issue at hand.

Strut Bearings can be replaced or repaired based on the extent of damages. For repairing it can be opened and greased by aligning the balls (36 of them).

Coils I found was available with the full kit, and difficult to source separately. Normally coils should stay for the life of the car.

Now coming to costs (least costs are quoted, as inquired from after market shops in JC Road, Bangalore last week. You need to physically verify the quality and chose accordingly what you need from the varieties available. HASS is minimum 2.5 times to 4 times these rates based on components. I am not very comfortable with some of the components I saw there, chose wisely)

A - Rs 2400 each (1 for left and 1 for right)
A1, A2 - Rs 1800 ( A set of 4, 2 each for left and right)
B - Rs 2200 (A set of two, 1 for left and 1 for right)
C - Rs 1200 (A set of two, 1 for left and 1 for right)
D, E - Rs 2000 (A set of D and E, you will need 1 set for left and another for right)
F - Normally not changed
G - Rs 300 (A set of two cut bushes)

1 - Rs 1400 each (1 for left and 1 for right)
2 - Rs 1200 each (1 for left and 1 for right)
3 - Rs 475 each (1 for left and 1 for right)
4 - Rs 3000 each (1 for left and 1 for right)
5 - Difficult to source
Full shock absorber assembly - Rs 7500 each, (1 for left and 1 for right)

This is very interesting information. I am assuming these components are from your Civic and you have replaced them. How much total it cost you for the overhaul. I had done a front suspension overhaul for my Civic at 33.4K. I am more interested in knowing the what would be needed at the rear.

re: Honda Civic : Maintenance, Service Costs and Must dos

Folks,

Had the yearly service done to my 2007 V MT 62000 km Civic last week from Olympia Honda in Ambattur, Chennai.

The car was absolutely fine. My running is limited to 200 km a month.

The bill is reproduced here.

Visit HASS only once a year so their predatory tactics shock me.

They evidently try to extract the maximum from owners.

They also find many serious issues with assemblies like Clutch, Brake, and Suspension.

And things need immediate repair according to them.

They managed to make a fool of my Driver, but to a limited extent.

I had pointedly cautioned him to guard against such tactics.

To some avail.

It seems that one annual servicing visit we can not avoid.

We simply have to grin and bear it.

Some Information on the Front Shock Absorber

Continuing from my previous posts, let us take a look at the shock absorber components. Sorry for the quality as some I had to take with a low end mobile camera for documentation!

The Strut

Check for recoil and for any leaks. After 1.25 lakhs and 8 years on all possible terrains this guy held really well in my Civvy. Check if it really needs a replacement before you agree. If you are changing to Bilsteins, Konis or Teins its a different matter altogether
