Palio sport 1.6 - Clutch noise

I hear a sound whenever i press or release the clutch. It started few months back. The service center (not TASC) advised me to change the clutch kit.

Though it is not a problem as such and the car has been running fine since 3 months but the noise sure is very irritating.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I had a similar experience on my 1.6. Its apparently a spring issue...was changed free of cost during 3rd service

Please check the clutch bearing , mostly that would be the problem .One of my friends also had a similar noise from his clutch . Changing the clutch bearing alone would not cost you much . If you are going in for a full clutch overhaul (which i suggest) and you are a performance enthusiast then look at getting a exedy clutch plate from ya nearest dealer .Your mini 1.6 rocket would love being able to put out those horses better . How many kilometers has your present clutch driven ?

Most probably, it is either the cable or the spring that is making the noise. Change it; hardly a couple of hundred bucks & 1 - 2 hours of work.

Thanks guys. I don't think I can change the clutch just now (financial issues). Hopefully as you suggested a spring replacement would work. fingers crossed. I have done about 25k. The clutch was replaced at 9k. So, clutch giving away seems a remote possibility.

Then its got to be an issue of the spring only . please do check up and get it fixed before it wears the clutch . keep us informed of whats happening 2 .!
