esteem instrument cluster backlighting changed to red

hi guys. even my esteem's instrument cluster or speedo had the boring green back lighting so thought of changing it to something different. saw the snaps of the baleno whose backlighting was changed to red so thought of going with red. i also read some posts in which people mentioned that the backlighting of esteem cannot be changed easily so i decided to try it out. i replaced the old bulbs with new ones & covered them with the same red plastic sheet which the baleno guy did. got the sheet for Rs.3. it was hell of a tough job atleast for me. you can see in the pic that the red light is softer on the eyes than the original green one.
now i am done with it but unfortunately i didnt have a cam with me when i was doing it.
heres the pic

i have also done the same trick with backlighting of the ac switches but as it has a green stickering on it which i didnt try to remove, it is not giving that bright red look instead its looking light pink. will try to post pic soon.

Is there any way to make the speedo cluster bright.

is it the same process that was followed for the baleno one or does something different need to be done for esteem?

What mm white LEDs did you use? Also, how many LEDs did you use?
You can use more than one LED connected in series to get more light.

Quite a few threads on similar lines now on the forum. Do check them out.

Finally...finished the DIY

Took many pics but unfortunately, the quality was very very bad for posting.

You might wonder whats with the color blue..It is the roof lights.
I had a blue rubber tube. I just pushed the bulb inside it...

The out come of the roof light is that its not very blue..but looks close to white...

Cheers! cheers:
