We can do that for sure..when do we go? I got the quote from a Citi motors at opera house and also other places around. The guy you suggested wanted me to either come down or send a fax, dint find time. Was the quote from Linkway for the entire front setup only?

Where did you get your quote from?

Linkway Honda had quoted me 16k for the same thing just for your info.

The rear shocks are costing me the same as the front(total cost of rear parts 6.5k approx). I intend to get the front setup changed in this round and see if its ok, i guess will take a discision aboout the rear later. Will surly get the steering checked. Thanx a lot.

Two suggestions:

1. Get your rear suspension checked. You can change just the shocks since they are relatively much cheaper than the front.

2. Get your steering serviced as well. The sounds from the suspension could be related. And not to forget that you're running 16"

@ Narayan - Bro, it's better to all of it changed together for an 8 year old car since you don't want to change parts one by one. (She will ask for it sooner or later you know!!).

Yep, linkway quote was for the front setup only a few years ago.

I'm really busy for the next ten days, so if you're in a hurry, you can go ahead. I have a good mechanic at malabar hill, i'll get a quote from him just to cross check costs anyways and keep you posted.

Getting the steering checked is a good idea; i had to get mine done up some time ago. Vibrations and play was greatly reduced after that.

In the after-market, Sunil Shanbagh is a veteran whom I trust the most. His workshop is at Dadar - 2414.9910. High quality of work & an outstanding gentleman.

Suspension Problem Solved ! ! !

Ok. Have got the front suspension re-built from a suspension specialist (he claims to be one and for sure has enough work) close to my house called Oberoi Suspension, Bandra.

Replaced quiet a few parts since they were all worn-out(70k Kms old), got them myself from City Motor Co, Opera House.

Suspension Related Parts
Front Shocks - INR 3,800
Front Strut kit – INR 450
Lower Arms – INR 3,000
Linkage Bush Kit – INR 250
Balance Rod Bush Kit – INR 100

Steering Related Parts
Steering Ball joint – INR 1,000
Tie rod ends – INR 750

Other Worn-out Parts
Front Wheel Bearing – INR 1,400
Brake Pads – INR 650
Front Centre Engine Mounting – INR 850

Total Labour – INR 1,000

Grand Total – INR 13,250

Got the steering rack checked, not a single drop of oil has leaked and was told that its as good as new. The suspension rattles have absconded but there are other things I need to take care of. The interior door panels/plastic parts are rattling and I just don’t know what to do about them. Plz suggest a solution guys…..do you know of a guy who can do this for me?

The suspension parts are quoted for a pair or single?

How long did the mechanic keep the car with him?

About the rattles, i have been trying all sorts of ideas and nothing seems definitive. A few drops of stickfast in certain hidden areas have helped. Only other solution is to replace the plastic parts with new ones. If you do find a good person for this issue, let me know too!

The rates are for pairs and not single...he had to keep the car for 3 days because the threading on one of the bolts was worn-out and it was a sunday. 2 days are enough for the job.
