Dual injector tech ??

Hay guys ,

Are there any cars in production which use 2 injectors per cylinder(like twin spark IDSI) in DI diesel engine ?
If there are 2 injectors, then there would be enough place in the head only for 2 valves per cylinder.. But instead of 1 injector spraying fuel repeatedly over a period of a few microsec, the 2 injectors can alternatively spray fuel into the combustion chamber which could result in

1) Better combustion ?
2) Better or worse NVH ?

Just a taught !

There are multiple injections per stroke in some diesel engines but ive never heard of dual injectors.

Bigger engines have multiple injectors, but AFAIK, there is no multiple injectors for car diesel engines.

There isn't enough space for the current size injectors to fit in.

number of injectors wont affect the number of valves, cause injectors are attached to the runners or at plenum.

There is a tech where there is an injector on each runner and also an injector on the manifold. This system facilitates better mixing of fuel and air, but with newer injectors and port designs, this advantage has been reduced.

I dont know which cars use this or even if any car at all uses it, but i have read about it.

The only advantage i can see of multiple injectors per cylinder is that the duty cycle (amount of time injector is open) for each injector will reduce.
