How to drive properly in stop & go traffic?

Hi everybody! I'm new to driving! It was nearly 15 years ago when i first learnt to drive on a second hand maruti 800 (carb). Cars have come a long way since then. I haven't drove for a long time untill recently when i started driving my brothers santro xing. A lot of things have changed i.e. MPFI lets you start the car without pressing on accelerator etc.

My question is in stop & go traffic while i'm in 1st or 2nd gear. I tend to take off my foot from accelerator & just rely on half clutch & brakes. I've got into a habit of rolling from standstill in 1st gear without using accelerator at all. Is this the right way or not?

Is there a perfect method to driving in stop & go traffic?

Well it depends on the road & cars also. Use the accelerator judiciously(if needed) when moving out from a stop. The clutch release method is also not bad depending on the situation.
