hey guys i have heard that the esteem has a faster 0-100 than lancer,city,accent,baleno is this true if yes please explain why

Yes, because it's much lighter - more power to weight ratio.

boom shiva is correct...esteem has good power but less weight compared to the other cars listed. Also its aerodynamic shape (pointy nose) helps along with gearing.

anyways as BS said - its the power to weight ratio that helps the esteem smoke the competition.....heck it kills the ikon 1.6 !

ya even the shifter karts in coimbtore have esteem engines fitted in them

Well the Esteem is faster to 100 then all its rivals leaving the City 1.5 and Vtec apart

SInce they are out of production now they can now be called as the Mclaren F1s of India

yeah i took 60 to the max in first gear and 100 in second gear in my esteem.

Esteem with a shorter final drive in the diff will be a rocket for sure.
Anybody know what the current ratio is and if a shorter final drive can be sourced for it.

damn...every mag says the baleno has a quicker 100 time...but i'll take your word on this ice...

which has the quicker 1/4 mile? whats the esteems?

baleno is faster after the 100..also the gears are 60 and 120 1st and 2nd...also the big controversial issue...is that the baleno and esteems are peppier in the 1st and 2nd when compared to the vtec too

Well A Baleno is a better machine then a Esteem in terms of performance. Its just that the Esteems light weigt propels it ahead of the Baleno. Even i feel the same V1P3R that all mags like ACI says 0 -100 of Esteem is 11.49 wheras Balenos is 11.19 well but bhpians say Esteem is faster till 100 so i think it is.. lets test it.. go to Maruti showroom and ask for both the cars test drive two people take testdrives and then race it.. i guess it wont be nice to floor the hell out of your Baleno V1p3R
