Now that is some serious rust Maverick. Very bad steel quality/paint job from TATA.

Get it sorted ASAP. Also, check for rust, on suspension mountings, running board and on the joints in the mudguard. Get it sorted out, if any.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Guys Is there a possibility to get the central locking to lock itself after a certain amount of time once the key is taken off in a Vista? This was possible in my Esteem which had a after market xenon remote.

I have left the car open couple of times last week. Thank god both times it was inside locked car park

I don't think it locks automatically. If there is any setup for that even i would love to have that.

On the other hand if you unlock the doors and do not open them within a stipulated time it does get locked again.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Hi,

My Vista’ Qjet strains in second gear when it crosses 2000rpm. It had clocked ~20100 KMs. The pick-up drops and finds hard to pull after 2000 RPM. Moreover, I could feel the engine becoming rough and noise getting increased. This happens only in second gear. As a result overtaking in slow moving city traffic becomes a pain. There is no problem in 3rd, 4th, 5th gear and pick-up is very good even after crossing 2000 RPM. We do have another Vista QJet, which doesn’t have this issue in 2nd gear. It zooms after 2000 RPM and reaches 3000+ RPM with ease in second gear. But TASC people say they don’t find any problem with my car and do not find any error codes. They say I feel it because of the increased engine noise audible inside the cabin. But I’m not convinced with their answer. BTW, nowadays the engine noise is more audible than before inside the cabin while idling and moderate speed, but goes silent and smooth after 80 KM/H. Again, it’s more silent inside the cabin of our other Vista which has done ~71500 KMs irrespective of the RPM.

What could be the reason? Does anyone have this problem in Vista QJet?

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

I moved to Bangalore now.
My car suddenly got a problem with engine start. It was fine until yesterday evening. In the next morning, When I tried to start the car, the engine started but slowly the engine slow down and stopped. This happened all the time --- engine started and after few second the engine is stopped.

I tried to reset the fuel cutover switch located under the driver seat but no luck.

I have no clue what happened over night?

My car has completed 2+ years and 32000+ KM.

Could you people please suggest a good TATA service center in Bangalore where I can get the ECU reprogrammed for AC improvement + Front suspension squeeking sound.

How good is Prerna Motors @ CV Raman nagar? Its very near to my place.

Is it a petrol or a diesel?. In any case, I guess its a fuel supply issue. Assuming there is enough fuel in tank, I would suspect the Fuel Pump and a clogged Fuel Filter.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

My 11 month Vista (D) has a new problem. The co-drivers window rolls down from the drivers side, but doesn't roll up. The next servicing is 7 months way. I guess I'll have to live with it for a while!

I am sorry for not providing enough info.

My car is vista quadrajet (Diesel). and ofcourse there is enogh fuel in the tank and for this reason i tried to reset the fuel cutoff switch multiple times.

Folks, could you please provide any input for good service center around CV raman nagar.

And as my car is more than two years old (but i have extended warranty) if i call the service center people to repair the car at my place, what would they charge?

Regards,

You can reach out to the Prerana motors service center on old madras road (next to big bazar), thats the place i got to and they do put in efforts to sort out your problems. Please meet Mr. Ravindra over there, he is the works manager and a good person who will listen to you .

This happens due rusting in power window button circuitry.
If you press up button do you hear click sound of relay or not. If not then it is for sure is problem with button. Here is DIY guide how to fix this problem.

I had this problem two times and it can be done in 10 minutes.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

My third freeservice bill is Rs.1800/-.I am being tol that only labour is free.I have been charged on engine oil(mineral),oil filter and some misc...Is this normal.

The SA was on my back to switch to full synthetic engine oil.I didnt wanna spend(truth is that i couldnt afford at this time of the month) that much.Is there a noticeable difference in the performance and NVH levels? In other words is it worth the money?

Thanks

Third Free service corresponds to 10k service.
Oil filter change is not required.
Engine oil should not take more than 1300 bucks.

Whats the misc that you are referring to?

Yes, if you can afford it every 10k kms, then synthetics are worth the money.

Please change the Oil Filter whenever you change oil.

I agree fully. It is always recommended to change your engine oil filter, with each change of engine oil.

It is normal for the service station to charge you for the parts while providing free labor for the free service - it was the same when I went into the Varun Motors Maruti Authorized Service Station for the free service. The free service bills were always below INR.2,000/-. You do not really need synthetic engine oil as long as you stick to the recommended oil change intervals.
