a/c problem in zen!

yo guys i have a zen vxi 2003 model my query is that whenever i switch on the a/c there is a sound like a spark or something from the engine bay but the a/c works fine i think it is very common why does this happen?

@hot rod:thats nothing but the a/c compressor kicking in.that sound comes when the compressor gets switched on.but this sound is more prominent in maruti cars because in aluminium engines sound travels a lot.no need to worry.and more than a spark sound its a click sound.

Thats probably the sound of the relay contacting , should not be a problem

just to be on safe side, get ac compressor checked, if the lube oil or gas is low, it can damage the compressor and give a big bill later on. yeah there will be that pitchak sound when ac clutch activates esp in maruti vehicle thanks to poor cabin insulation slightly more audible compared to other vehicles

hey man, its just the contacter or the thermostat sound which makes noise in almost all the cars but its much more in the Maruti's and the PALIOs. So, need not worry.
