Help. Whistling sound from new Hyundai Accent

I had the same problem with my petrol lancer , Whistle sound used to come from the speakers i.e whistle sound used to increase with acceleration . Fault was loose earth connection of my ICE .

Hey guys,

From past few days my alto whistles at higher RPM's (redlining RPM's). Once engine passes around 4.5K - 5K RPM's the exhaust starts to whistle..Is that normal or is there any problem...I recently installed a k&N conical filter, but the whistling sound used to come before I installed the k&n..

Please suggest.....

Earlier i've seen a friend lancer who installed some nozzle at end of silencer which gave whistling sound at high speed.

Do you have any such attachment on silencer end ?

The whistling sounds are mostly from the intake, some people even do it on purpose to get that. But as you say it was there before the k&n, it is mostly due to a leak in the exhaust. High rpm = high pressure so if there's a leak somewhere, it might sound at high pressures.

Just get an auto guy to check your exhaust starting from the manifold upto the muffler tip while mildly revving the engine. Shouldn't be hard to solve it. If you can hear the whistling while revving, just look for its source.

Naa..I do not have anything at the end of my silencer... The soound usually comes in at high RPM's
