Why is the OHC Vtec exhaust muffler different?

Does anyone know what is the logic behind having 2 tail ends after the muffler in the Vtec, compared to only 1 tail end after the muffler on the regular 1.5 & 1.3 City???

Distinction... thats the one 'accessory' that Honda won't sell you. I guess to just showcase theeir V-tec brand more than anything else...

Yup, it's just to make the car look more sporty. I don't think it makes much of a diff to the performance of the car.

with everyone.i dont think its got to do with the performance of the car its just there as a distinction between a regular one and a vtec.

the moment some one see it they know its a vtec !!

And apart from the muffler, its the wheels that really stand out. They are so damn light-weight and one of the best for drag purpose. They fetch a high price too.

yeah to distinguish between a normal city and the vtec i usually look for the following things which are unique and are usually not there on the normal ones.

1) the exhaust tip(twin exhaust)

2) alloys.

3) spoiler but now most of the normal citys also have it so basically its just the 1st two.

yea but when vtecs have changed alloys and exhaust like jigar then,
see the rear or pop the hood.

I suppose only to give a sporty look that " Shot Gun Exhaust" was added.

Check out the tacho, the Vtec redlines at 7100 while the others are set at 6800.

Poping the hood would be the last option.

But, i've seen this City 1.5 in Blore which not only has everything made to look like the Vtec but, he's even managaed to fit it with a Vtec engine. So, technically speaking, it's a Vtec now.

What you people can do is buy a really cheap 1.3 (with high mileage) remove the engine, buy a brand new Vtec engine for 2-2.5 lakhs (confirmed that with Honda) and fit it on the 1.3 chassis.

They're all the same. It makes more sense bcoz, for the price of a 2nd hand Vtec, you can get an old City 1.3 with a brand new Vtec engine. Spoke to Honda the other day and they said they can still provide brand new Vtec engines.
