Favourite Gear Slot

Hey folks,

I feel a bit silly, but was wondering whether any of you have a particular gearshift that you'd count as your favourite.

For example, I love the downshift into third just before accelerating through a moderate corner, and the following swift and short plonk into fourth-- leg movement, hand movement, leg movement again in the space of one second.

Thoughts?

Definately 5th gear on the highway...good for mileage also.

What kind of a poll and thread is this? I like to shift into 'D' but my 'box doesn't let me - nor does this poll. Neutral, 4H and 4L are missing too...

SS-- yeah I know, I said I feel stupid for talking about something so insignificant... but then if there's any place someone might understand the joy that comes from this little aspect of driving, it's T-BHP!

Automatic drivers can look at the poll and feel bad about all the joy they're missing... quick gearshifts give me a real high!

I like any gear that takes me to 1500rpm, that is when all hell breaks loose in my Pete'd Viva

Jokes apart, my favorite is 3rd gear and that too when it crosses the above rpm, it is nothing short of bliss !

It would be the second one for me in the city. This one keep me ahead in the traffic.

And for the highways it would be the fourth.

Getting into 2nd is the true high.

a) Shifting up to second after hitting the revlimiter.
b) Shifting down to second for that smooth tight corner... laying down the power on the exit

Ahhhhh - Sweet second.

The mondeo pulls like crazy in second therefore its my favourite. It would be the 3rd in my swift and fifth in the skoda.

I like shifting from P to D4 and then love kick down shifting so I guess that makes me like third gear for overtaking
