Certainly, might take a couple of days, will use my Nikon D3100 to try for some self-explaining shots.

To reiterate, I have NEVER stuck sun-films for 5.5 years with 1,22,000 kms on the odo of my Civic, and never felt the need for it, even during a 40 Degree C mid-noon drive in peak summer (May 2012) on my return from Goa to Bangalore (via Hubli) with four people on-board.

Hi Manim, is the shades similar to the one posted above? Or is it something different?
In Magnum Honda site, they were quoting 15k for the shades, which i think includes the rear windshield as well.

I understand...the AC in the Civic is very efficient, and when moving fast on the highways, one doesn't feel the need for sun-control film. Also, the window glasses, I think , are factory-fitted tinted glasses.

But, slow-speed city driving in the hot Chennai sun can cause the dashboard to heat up a lot, and the drive/co-passenger can feel the heat. To overcome this, I am planning to get some transparent, high-heat-rejection windscreen film soon.

I am interested in the sun-shade what you mentioned more from a privacy point-of-view, than the heat-rejection.

They do look the same (I will try photographing them tomorrow).

Yes, they also give good privacy.

One problem with them is that they cannot be removed in a hurry, they need a few minutes with the door open and using the hands from both sides of the door (so as not to damage them).

So here are the photos.
Taken with my Nikon D3100, cropped and re-sized.

I had bought these for Rs.5,415 at Honda Madurai in July 2008.
I had also seen these at Honda Chennai (Sundaram Honda) a few days before I bought them.

It is similar to those with the suction cups sold in busy traffic-signals, but the quality is much better. Also they do not fall off once fitted.

They must be pressed by mild force into those 'notches'. There are five 'notches' on either side. I thought they may come off but they are still functional after 5+ years. I did stick one of them again using quick glue though.

Also acts as a mosquito screen when parked in some busy areas! (with the glass rolled down for air).

One problem with them is that if the rear seat passenger wants to get something from outside, it is not possible in a hurry. It takes a few minutes to remove or fit them, so as not to damage them (they are costly!).

It gives good privacy too.

Comes with a cover to keep them safe (The cover was not given to me initially, but since I had seen it in Chennai, forced them to give it to me).

Thanks for the detailed pics, manim

These definitely look good and worth the money spent...let me check with Sundaram Honda Chennai when I go there for the next service.

Thanx manim. is it a pair or set of 4. I'm searching for a similar set for my Fiesta and Beat. The usual ones (suction types) look cheap. Chevy doesn't provide those as accessories, do they? Too bad that manufacturers don't provide these as OE for their entire cars.

Only a pair, I think it is not legal to put them on the front side windows since they obstruct vision.

Re: Sun Protection, without sun film - Options?

Need an advise. The sunfilms i had on my Alto Lxi need a change. The car accessories person in T.Nagar suggests to go with 40% protection sunfilms (for 4 windows and the rear windshield, costs Rs.4k).
Is it allowed to use the 40% protection sunfilms?

Legally no sun films are allowed. Only factory fitted tinted glasses are, like what the Baleno has. The % does not matter
