Basic Car Troubleshooting

Have been going through the older posts and had not seen a basic troubleshooting guide on Team - BHP for the regular members. Most of the information we had was primarily for Mods and snippets for actual trouble shooting.

The link below points to Yahoo Auto's Repair Tips & Troubleshooting Advice which is extremely easy to understand for everyone.

http://autos.yahoo.com/owning/maintain/repairqa/

Please do kindly add any more links you have to this thread for all members to use and benifit from.

PS: Moderators if there are any more additions to this can we please have them consolidated into one set of links so that it is easy for all the members to access (along the lines of Shantanu's list of member names.)

I wrote a code in VB some 4 years back. By answering to a series of questions, it will try to isolate a few causes for the problems. Maybe we can do that and put an executable here so that everyone can use it.

Hmmm.... that is a good idea. I'll see if i can do something about it. The one i wrote is pretty basic not scalable sort. Will try to so something proper soon. I have had this idea for sometime now. Maybe now i'll give it some serious thought.

team-bhp.com/forum is there. I guess we need website too. Maybe team-bhp.com/wiki! Look what wikipedia.org has become. Moderators, how about setting up a wiki and letting the members decide the content!

Good. This thread would be very useful to equip ourselves to handle/explain the basic problems.

Mods: Can we make this post 'sticky'?

Have written a basic MS Access program for maintaining your vehicle expenses and service history. to download this program please do kindly right click the link below and save the file to your system.

Right click and save this file to your computer.

Once you have saved it on to your system change the extension of the file to "zip", unzip the file and use the application named "MyVehicleManager.mdb".

Do note I have left it unlocked if anyone would like to improve on the same. Sorry about the cumbersome process to download but the hosting place just would not allow me to upload Zip or Mdb files.
