who said diesel engine generators dont have to meet emmission norms?

You can add FFE and other engine mods to increase power up to 5BHP. Skoda people increase from 140 something to 520 BHP. Also standard LPG kit to reduce petrol bills. You can get industrial 19 KG LPG cylinder around 850 Rs. Please calculate per Kilowatt price.

We have a generator which uses a Tata 407 diesel engine. Cost just over 1 lakh to get it made locally inlcuding cost of engine and generator. Runs very sweet and if I recall correctly it can run a couple of AC, submersible water pump etc without much effort.

As for using second engines for AC in buses, when I visited pakistan in 2004 I remember the luxury bus we travelled in had a separate engine for the AC.
