W124 Mercedes benz E220 ignition coil

I bought a W124 E220 3 months back, its clocked 115,000kms and its been serviced every 10k kms and drives like a dream. I took delivery of the car when the odo had clocked 100,000kms and went a bit over the service time and I went to my regular merc guy who services about 70% of the mercs in cochin and asked him about the replacement interval of the ignition coil of the M111 engine and he started scratching his head and said "we only change it when the engine starts missing" I was just wondering if anyone could help me with the life span of the ignition coil of the M111 engine.

There is no service interval or life span for an ignition coil. Just like the fuel pump. If it starts to give trouble, then change it, else live happily with the car.
