I feel it is due to bad quality Diesel in the pump... if the Diesel Pump (Made by Bosch) is dead then get ready to spare around 60k to replace it if the car is not under warranty.. the part is called FYP by Mechanical engineers...! an ECU reset MIGHT work!!.. There was a cure to this fault from Fiat.. I will consult a friend of mine and let you know..!

Sounds like an electrical glitch to me. Tell them to reflash the ECU.

Once the light goes off after a restart then i do not face any problem so i doubt if there is a problem with Diesel pump...

Check engine electricals and ECU. and see if the problem persists.

btw, 60k for a diesel pump. I'm never gonna look at the Fiat showroom anymore

Had taken the car to the service centre... They hv confirmed the problem is with fuel pump and it will be replaced by the company and the stock will only come after 2 months... Some 70 cars have faced the same problem...

I dont understand one thing why cant they get the stock of fuel pump when they know lot of people are facing the problem... I dont think fiat can ever improve...

The culprit here is bad diesel which we get..In India...one more reason why manufacturers think twice before putting up a CRDi engine!

Its gud that FIAT said they will replace..they are improving!

There is an issue with fuel pump in Palio D, I think they were all early models. One of my friend who bough a used car had this problem and the dealer replaced it free of cost. My Palio D has yet did not show up this problem.

Its been 22 days since your last post and you still dont have a solution? Try the consumer court for what its worth - I'm not sure how long it takes to get any sort of redressal, though.
