You can always say your car looks so much cooler than a modded or stock RS

Five 17" tires for 6.5k!!! Its a bargain irrespective of the tires.

Or is it 6.5k each? If its 6.5k each, then you can get Yokos for that money.

6.5K for all five tires. He got them for his swift when he came back from abroad. but he has rubbing issues. so he is getting a slightly lower profile set and is willing to give them to me for that price.

Guys, let this be a purely technical discussion about handling comparison.

Cant really believe why this thread has so many posts! LOL! Given any corner your civic will better the RS, guys have we forgotten that RS is a sloppy handler?? How about going through some old threads??!! Having driven both I can GUARANTEE that your civic will be a far better handler with your set up unless you have suspension calibration problem or any flexing issue with your car.

Stock civic with slightly better tyres will match an RS any day...ofcos minus the topspeed coz RS does travel faster

Well the RS does come with forged alloys which have some magnesium content, so yes they are superior to Lensos.

About the rest, I think your friend is just in awe of the RS, having driven it for a few days. The car doesn't handle that well, and some of them are prone to the occasional spell of 'boating'. A Civic would definitely handle better, more so with uprated rubber and dampers.

I have a feeling its the RS that has the edge in stock form (thanks to the Honda's crappy tires). ACI did a track test with NK and cornering speeds are clearly mentioned. (I dont remember what they are)

The Civic was so bad that it was outhandled by the CRV. Its overall laptime was beaten by Fiesta and the CRV, IIRC

Of course, you cant compare one stock car to another modified.

While I can't tell you how these cars handle (cuz I've never driven an RS, let alone hard), my advice to you is to simply ignore this person. There will always be people who do nothing but put you and your car down. What matters is how you like your car. After all, it is you, not him who drives it.

I guess two unbiased opinions from Sid & Karthik247 (vRS owners) should make you feel happy about your Civic.

There's no point in taking passing statements so seriously.
You have taken a good route to stiffen the suspension which would make Civic a blast to drive.

Continue to focus on having fun as you drive, avoid company which spoils such fun

yup. decided to ignore him. anyway i need some help now. i am getting camber bolts and camber kits. But i am running on the stock suspension settings. Would like to know a good setup which would not murder my tires, but help me in handling.

They both have their pros and cons.
