Poor Mileage in Octy Vrs

hey guys,

i bought a used 2005 Octy Vrs a few months back and got it Stage 1 tuned.She's been moving fine but the problem is the milage.I get only 5 KMPL in the city when driven with a light foot and about 7 on the highway.The milage was about the same when the car was stock.

The car have been serviced,the injectors have been cleaned,the fuel pump has been checked and all the sensors have also been checked,but the problem still remains.Point me to the right direction guys.

I get around 4 kpl in my Stage 2 Octy with full on aggressive driving. So, 5kpl is okay I guess. AFAIR, stock 1.8 gives 7.5.

@ SirAlec - Stage 1 = Remap/better plumbing and filter/upgraded BOV. This is what Pete's recommends.

hey shuvd,the reason i asked is because a couple of other stage 1 Vrs's i know of return much better milage.and as i had said,the milage was no better when the car was stock.

5 kpl with a light foot is definitely on the lower side. I know Monkey's car gives 7 kpl in the city (with a stage one remap). You need to get her checked by a pro. What air filter are you using? Is the car properly tuned?

If the car has covered 50k kms, you could change the spark plugs. Also try cleaning the throttle body- although a dirty throttle body would usually make the EPC light come on.

GTO-im using a piper cross CAI,and yes the car is properly tuned,i know this beacuse it's a standard map and not a custom map.

bomi-sparks plugs changed and TB cleaned.

there is one more thing i've noticed,for the first 5 mins that the car is on, it will boost properly even with half throttle.but after that i need to press it deep for it to boost.and this just adds to the milage problem.

If your air filter is oil coated, then its known to gum up the MAF sensor on the RS. If its not, then its beyond me. Be careful before you embark on cleaning the MAF; I was advised to leave it alone when I had notions of cleaning it, just because it had never been cleaned.

My stock ride easily gives around 9-10kmpl.
5 is very low.
Try cleaning the Cold Air Filter too. It is sometimes the culprit

guys...CAI cleaned,MAF & MAP sensor also cleaned.nothing has woked yet,im sure its something small and stupid but im not able to figure it out yet.and i dont want to go the the skoda *** for this for obvious reasons,they will loot me for all i've got and my car will return 4 KMPL after that.

Contact Pete's. There must be some issue with the Remap.
