Hey guys,

My automatic transmission is due for a service.

I have heard from quite a few people that the transmission filter need not be replaced, but should be cleant. Do you think this is a good option?

Has anyone had the experience of servicing a AT?

My Car is a Honda City 1.5 EXI AT transmission.

I am also looking out for the car manual/ hanes car manual for it.

The price of the filter is minimal, as compared to the price of the overhaul, please do not think twice about changing the filter. Ensure that the right specification of ATF is used.

Servicing an AT is a tremendous task, and you will be lucky if you find a mechanic who is willing to do the job.

I have seen very few mechanic taking it apart and then putting it together back correctly.

WHat exact is the problem that you are facing.

please go to HONDA authorized for this. Dont play around with AT boxes with local mechs.

and before going into any deep repairs
change the transmission oil and filter.

what is the exact nature of problem you are facing?

Jerks while shifting?
slow response ?
bad FE?

Respected Sir, I have experienced the pain on getting an overhaul on the Auto Tranny, and am able to provide any sort of assistance(mechanical or otherwise) for Delhi and NCR region for the same.

getanilkhanna, can you please post the contact details of the shop and your experience with them in the Team-BHP directory. This would be helpful for all members as there are not many places for getting auto transmission repaired.
