Cracked Windshield - Advise needed

Okay, This happened on the freeway. A truck flung a stone from the road onto my windshield at 70MPH. Now I have a crack in the lower right side of the windshield. A small one about 3 inches across.

Now I have two options -
1) Get the windshield replaced. Cost = USD 600 (Insurance deductible is 500, so that's my cost)

2) Get it repaired with epoxy compound. Cost = less than a 100 bucks.

Though it's expensive, I'm leaning towards getting it replaced.

But has anyone got their windshields repaired with these epoxy compounds?

Just wanted to know if the crack is still visible after the treatment. Well, if it is as good as they advertise it to be, then I can save myself some money and just get it repaired instead of replaced.
