The A4 3.2FSI runs on 91RON petrol. Just download the A4 official brochure and you'll see it said on the specs page.
turbohead, if you are going to take this up legally with Skoda, you should try and get the dealer to assure you in writing that the car will work fine with 91RON fuel. Don't mention anything about the manual or Skoda HQs response. Just get that bit in writing. Then you have some basis for a legal case.
good news speed97 is back in mumbai :-)

So the FSI engines need 91RON minimum but the TFSI need 95RON min. The 1.8TSI manual says 95RON minimum.

In my opinion the A4 3.0 TDI makes a lot more sense than the 3.2 FSI.
Not only is availability of the fuel a non-issue, the diesel sibling is also quicker than the petrol one. ( 0 to 100 dash ).
Any updates ? What is the status of the car now ?
ya any update? have you tried octane boosters?

is it really true ? then i should start looking for that vehicle now . but where did you confirm this ?
That link is from Audi's own website. I confirmed using the Contact Us section on the website. Lightning fast replies too.

the fact that Skoda does not bother to detune its cars for India to run on more widely available 91 RON like almost every other manufacturer does is quite apalling and reinforces (in my eyes) their general apathy towards their customers. |
On a related note, BMW officials at the Auto Expo
insist that the 760 Li's V12 engine runs just as well on regular petrol. They claim that the car was driven around in Delhi, and to the Expo, on regular fuel.
Why cant Skoda at least mention something like the below statement in the brochure or manual.
"Recommended fuel is super unleaded with 95 RON. If this is not available, normal unleaded 91 RON may be used; power output will be slightly reduced."

Sorry for keeping away from the thread for long.
Finally Skoda has accepted their fault and given us in writing (from Skoda not dealer) that we may use the normal unleaded fuel (91 RON) for regular running of the car and the car shall be covered in proper warranty under any circumstances, even using the fuel otherwise not recommended in their manual. Though we have worked out some arrangement with the nearby Petrol pump to provide the desired 95 RON, yet in case of non availability of desired fuel the risk is covered.
Yet to use the octane boosters with normal petrol to check the difference.
