Many people believe that the only difference between Swift and Dzire is the boot. But if you look closer, there are many other differences. Here are the ones I could spot on Dzire VXI compared to Swift VXI

1. Boot space

2. Backseat has a soft armrest in the middle.

3. Seat fabric color tone is much better than swift

4. The hand support handles inside the vehicle over the windows are spring loaded. So they retract if you remove your hand. This prevents your head hitting on the handle in bad roads. In swift you have hard plastic handles screwed to the body of the vehicle. My head has hit on that handle a few times in swift on bad roads :-)

5. Factory fitted ICE - Though its a very average quality, but speakers both in front and rear is given.

6. Bottle holders in the rear doors

7. Stylish "Push button" spotlights in the front side of the cabin.

8. The headrest in the rear is also similar to the front seats unlike in Swift

9. The inclination of the back rest of the seats in rear is more in Dzire(due to boot space below). This gives a better comfort than Swift.

10. The time display on the dashboard displays temperature as well unlike the equivalent Swift varient.

11. Unlike Swift, Dzire comes with factory fitted keyless security system. The security keys are embedded in the black plastic part of the car key which is very convenient.

12. Central lock/unlock button present in the armrest of drivers seat.

Anything more I missed?.

Lots of good information coming on this thread Keep the information flowing guys..!!

The odometer in the Swift will show display even without the ignition key for 5 seconds. Just press the reset probe and see what happens!..............

I did not know about this. This always shows the total kms even if you were using trip meter.

I did not get what you meant by "Stylish "Push button" spotlights in the front side of the cabin".

The central lock/unlock button on the driver's armrest is present on the Swift Vxi too.

Unlike the slider buttons for the cabin light, the Dzire has push-in-push-out style buttons.

I guess there are 2 sets of lights in the Dzire unlike the hatch.

Oh cool!

Btw, to add to the differences:
14. The front grill is different in Swift and DeZire.
15. Wheel caps are different on both.

Fountainheader, what does your signature mean?

  2. The brightness of the meter illumination can be controlled in every Swift with the same probe. Never tried this though it is given in the manual
  3. The ORVMs in a Swift can be folded on either side, i.e inwards and outwards. very good feature
  4. The headlight focussing in a Swift is a breeze. Simply turn the adjuster (povided at the place from where you replace the headlight bulb) clock wise or anticlockwise to raise or dip the beam. Clockwise when looking forward will raise the beams? pl confirm this.
  5. The door shutline (gaps) can be adjusted by rotating the rubber knob located at the bottom of each door in either direction. This applies to the bonnet too. Didnt find this
  6. Rear fog light can be turned on alongwith the headlight with the 'ring' provided on the right control stick lever.
Thanx
great thread. replies in bold
my one cent:- 500 ml bisleri fits perfectly in front cup holder.

Nice thread! Was searching for it and not posting this as I thought the thread existed but I didn't know about it.

The front glove box cavity is open to the engine area on the other side. Beware of important papers slipping into that area if glove box gets overloaded. I have lost a few small things because of this!
You can see the opening when the glove box is fully open.

This is not a feature and i dont know whether it is same in all the other cars. The gear lever cannot be slotted from fifth to reverse. But it can be done in all the other gears (At standstill).
