Didnt get the point you were trying to make
Hi Goandude,

The amber lights i'm talking about here are not from aircon controls. you have to stoop down and then you can find these lights on the base of the aircon panel. or just see 90 degree above your ashtray.. these small lights are parallel to car floor.

Hi Mushroomz,

These lights gets switch on automatically when you switch on your headlights but they are very dim, so to check keep your palm under them and then you can see them coming up.

What is the purpose of these lights? If the illumination is dim as mentioned by Travelbug, does it really serve the purpose it is intended for? Also, is this feature specific only to the Dzire or does it find its place in the Swift hatch as well?

I asked this question on the auto lighting thread but no one seemed to know the answer. the question is "can the headlights of the swift / dzire be adjusted up and down?" No, not by the knob in the cabin marked 1234, but by a levelling screw, normally found on the rear of the HL assembly in older cars.

Checked out for the Lights below the casing which is housing the A/C console, there were no lights, mine is a VXi variant.

I think it is specific to the ZXi variant, can anybody confirm this ?

This mixing of hot air to control temp is highly wasteful and silly IMO.

2. We mostly have strolly type luggage and if you put one in the boot the luggage tends to shift around while taking taking sharp turns. the Dzire has some nice holes in the metal around the left and right of the boot (upperpart) where one can tie the luggage eliminating the shifting of luggage

The compressor cuts in only in cars equipped with climate control.

Hi Sanjeevi,

I have checked in my friends VXI and these lights were not there but they are there in my ZXI model So I guess these lights are variant specific.

In my Matiz with out any climate control the compressor cuts in and out. I could feel it, as the power loss, when compressor cuts in, is significant.

I think you are talking about the vents on the left side of steering wheel.
I think it is for the key reminder/light reminder chime.

Yes. I am talking about those vents.
Thanks for clarification. I will have a look at them, with the lights ON without the key in the Ignition Switch & Update.

As far as I remember, it is for some temperature sensor something. They say, never block those vents if you have the auto climate control.

You are right, it's for sensing the inside temp for A.C.C.

The low and mid variant just have the slots but now sensors.
