Sorry mine has CR2032 - so I guessed that most of the remotes have this. I was wrong in my guees.

Car remotes require (mostly) 12v battery- I guess popular models are MN23A and MN27A- both are 12v- first one is thinner than latter.

Guys I checked the manual, apparantly its only keyless entry, not the security stuff (sorry I was not aware as I had bought the car second hand). I did try opening just with the keys as mentioend by rr_zen it worked not sound etc.
Of course, the plan to change the batteries is anyway on, but atleast the danger is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Opening keyless entry vehicles when battery isnt working

Discovered something new today ! I never knew cars with keyless entry / exit also have a key included to be used during emergencies !

I found out that there is a key to manually enter even cars with keyless entry/exit . Attaching a few pics to explain the same
