I think the title needs a new version. All posts are repetitive as OBD2 is updgrade on OBD1. Now the thread has started turning towards ECU and soon it will be chips taking over :)

OBD2 ECUs from Honda can also be made into full blown standalone-killing ECUs with magic from Hondata.
Not all of them though. And Hondata costs a packet. For that kind of money, you can probably get a RD ECU.

Hondata is in the USD 1000 range while comparable standalones from AEM or MOTEC cost north of the 4k mark.
It might be expensive, but it costs peanuts compared to the alternatives.
As far as RD goes, I don't know the feature sets, so I can't comment.

These things are pretty complicated, if u get a RD ECU probably u will get better support for tuning as compared to Hondata..
Maybe you should think of the 1st hand tuning support also..
