Thank God that work has started, hope ALL the parts have arrived.
The car will fetch you nothing in used mart either, just get it repaired, and enjoy it, and pray that this situation will never rise ever again.

Not its opposite.
atleast 30 odd parts are not available.

, to provide the support for the pre stile cars, if that is the case then its completly hopeless situation.
Can you list out the 30 parts? I have a feeling its the Palio specific parts.

Your best bet is to convert the front end look to a a Palio Stile which is still in production. Under the skin the Palio and the Stile are the same so parts should be in production. You're lucky it wasn't a rear end hit.

thats why people strike out the punto and linea from their list when considering a new car. I like their cars a lot but i believe the low sales of punto and linea (which as a product is capable of a lot more) are quite justified. They are reaping the fruits they have sown. Fiat must really prove themselves over a period of time to undo the mindset that people have about them. (So should GM, once i sell the optra i wont consider the Cruze for sure)

Dear Raghav, really felt bad on seeing the car and having to face such a situation with the company.
Somehow, that is one reason that people go to Maruti I guess, belive me, now even I am making a reconsideration on all Fiat cars.

Why do not the car manufacturers understand that A.S.S is an important function as good as selling the cars

This is very bad on FIAT's part. I really felt bad about the apathy of FIAT towards customers. It's really bad.

Hi Sorry for being absent for long
Was busy in follow up.
Yeah the parts have arrived. Rather mostly have being installd too.

A lot many wrong parts were sent (still there are a few which needed to be replaced).

Infact some parts are being installed the wrong ones only, just because I didn't had an option. Some parts even sourced from our good old kashmiri gate market.

The car is almost ready.
Just few more corrctions and installations are pending.

On sunday, engine was cranked after 4.5 months, it worked fine, it was left running for an hour.
Once all other parts arrive, a road test will be done.

Note: on 3rd Jan it will be 5 months. Honestly I have lost the sense of owning a car, and now it has taken so much of me, that i feel really privilaged when i think of having a car.

Regards
Harish

At least things have reached this stage. I can imagine what you went through and I really don't know how Fiat intends to continue like this with the older customers.

hrsraghav- I think you are located at the wrong part of country. I know one of my friend in delhi who owns a Siena (Fiat is a rare breed in delhi) and he frequently faces parts problem.
The scene is totally different in bangalore maybe thats why we are unable to visualise.
Today I got my car tinkering done at a roadside type shop and saw a Fiat Palio in mangled condition (wil post the pics in evening). Surprisingly everyone left unhurt and fiat estimated the repair cost to be 2L++ .. This guy is doing the same job for 72k ..

Even for me, he dented/painted the bumper, rear door, two side gates, front right fender. All for 4.5k that with genuine Dupont.
He said there is no problem in parts availibilty (he might be talking about the aftermarket ones though)

Delhi NCR has the biggest number of 178 platform Fiat vehicles (Palios, Petras, Sienas, Adventures) in India. Yet the parts scene is pretty bad.
