Help - Octy RS air bag, EPC, ABS, etc....

Thanks to the dousing my Octy got on 26/7 the cabin got flooded and it's EPC, ABS lights came one and the car started beeping. The Air bag light came on too.

After the car dried and we drained out what water we could manually the EPC and ABS lights stopped alarming us however the Air bag light still stays on.

Since the EPC and ABS lights have gone off can i assume that these parts are now functioning ok.

I called Skoda and they said not to use the car. I have driven it a bit and nothing really alarming happens. Should I drive it to town (60 minute drive)?

I am a layman when it comes to cars but I guess is that the Air bag CPU needs to be reset.

How does one dry teh carpet? Skoda has a backlog of cars that would mean waiting 1 week to 1 month depending who you talk to at AutoBahn.

It would be better to get it checked at the dealer end. Should not take much time since they will connect the VAG and let you know immediately.

I thought so but they want me to wait 1 week before they do this. Skoda Service seems to be taking their time, at the other end GM and Tata have been advertising discounts to all car owners who got hit by the flood.

Tell me about it. I had my third "free" service scheduled for Tuesday, but I didn't get the time to drop the car off! Yes, i'm counting my blessings, as my car would probably have been underwater had it been there!

Anyways, they are not able to attend to the car for almost a month now, so I figure I'm going to have to give it to someone else for the basics.

Navin, you might want to get in touch with Nitroxx, as he has the VAG scanner with him at his workshop (hope his shop is oK though!). A quick system's check should put things in order.

Navin ,

If you want i can send someone to you who will shampoo and dry the interiors including the carpets for you at your location.

Give me a buzz.

well i tried Team Auto Works but they did not get power all of sunday and monday. sent my car to Skoda Autobahn today. they gave me an estimate of 51,710 charging me for "Automatic Tranmission Repair" when my RS is a stick shift! I cant understand their estimate as per the estimate they will be fixing things that are not even broken or damanged.

Now they tell me that the car will take 30 days after the surveyor's report. Does anyone know a easier way? Or maybe a way to get these guys to behave?

Ok this is the time for Skoda to put up. Are they listening. I dont mind taking a trip to Aurangabad. I will race my old my old body and reflexes against any of their test drivers on their test track under the same conditions and if I win they gotta fix my RS. Fair?
