Damn! Chennai MASS are a bunch of day light robbers!

I left my new alto lxi to service today morning ( at service masters, guindy ) for its first service. After seeing someone in forums fixing his alto with remote boot., I gave him the part numbers and some snaps to get it fixed.

At first he was hesitant and finally he agreed to put it, but he quoted nearly double the cost for parts. For cable, he quoted 175 incl. VAT. When I told him that it costed half of it, he resented back stating that it is old price. He also said, for fixing the remote boot, parts alone costed around 300 incl VAT and labour would be 350 bucks since they have to remove the seat and floor to bring the cable. I was suspicious and asked him NOT to do it.

Now that I have the price list., I will ask him the parts alone and attempt as a DIY.

Very useful doc. Now we shall call up the MASS and say the part no for ordering. Want to see them with their jaws dropped. This can happen only with T-Bhpians.

Excellent job - this has been one of the most important thread that I have seen in ages.

If only there could be details for more manufacturers just like this but any way - this is the way to go.

Useful information, from which I came to that attaching a front power window kit is not as costly as I thought.
Price of OVRM are missing for some products.

My exact thoughts. Excellent stuff.
Its very handy to check prices before we plan to add more accesories or replace some parts.

You can also buy the illustrated parts catalog for all the cars from maruti service center. ask then for it to know each and every component of your car. if they refuse, say you will write to maruti. baleno was for Rs600 if i remember correctly.

Updated List 28/11/2009

Hello,

Found this updated price list. Hope it helps

PS: Rename the file extension from .pdf to .zip

I do not know the difference between this one the previous one posted at the start of this topic :( pardon me for this.

@ mods, is it possible to replace the first file from this topic with the latest one. Also, if you could create a provision to upload zip/rar files.
