Hello Guys,

I need your help on upgrading the Manual central locking to remote locking for my alto Xcite.

I have booked the Alto Xcite and it is due to be delivered during first week of January. There are couple of features in Xcite when compared to LXI like the body colored bumpers, central locking, front power windows, remote boot opener etc. For a difference of 15K, thought this was worth it and booked the same. When booking, the service guy said I can go in for an upgrade kit for my manual central locking to remote central locking (costing about 1800 Rs).

When I visited yesterday, the guy is telling that the upgrade kit will not work and he will have to replace the complete cental locking kit and this would cost me around Rs5400. I really don't want to upgrade the whole kit and there would have been no point in going in for Xcite for me then.

So anyone here has any experience of upgrading from Manual Central locking to Remote locking? Can I get this done somewhere outside?

Yes it is possible to add Keyless entry to existing central locking.

It costs around 2000. Detailed part list (along with price) has been posted on this forum. You can ask them to supply that particular part ad install it.

Or you can call Maruti customer care and ask this query.
