DIN chak...

Today my palio's battery went kaput. called the BatMobile Service and they diagnosed the battery needs replacement.

Gravity in 6 cells - 11 / 12.1 / 12 / 12 / 12 / 12.
Charge - 14.4 without load.

When i checked the manual - it says 50ah specification for the battery. i have ordered for a DIN50 with Exide - will that be a problem?

is the battery specification different in the Palio Vs the Adventure - 50ah Vs 55ah?

Could be. DIN55 costs a bit more than DIN50 in Kolkata (MRP). I got it at a discounted rate. Dealer Delivered & fitted the battery at my place. I didn't go and pick it up from the dealer.

I got 650/- for the old battery.

Quote:
DIN55 provides starting amps longer than DIN50 / more capacity - will be able to provide more current for the same period (if you need it) / as long as voltage (12V) remains same and battery fits in the bay both should be OK

Same here, i had to just call the dealer. he delivered the batt to my place.

btw 5300 is after deducting 650 bucks(old batt cost) or before deducting?

What was the dealer quoting for the DIN55 before bargaining? how much did you get for the old battery?

i think the thread title needs to be changed

I had to replace the battery on my car and went in for DIN55. It sticks out slightly out of the tray on the side but the connections and all fit ok. OTher than that are there any adverse effects to fitting a higher output battery ?

Amaron FLO, DIN45 at Chennai for Rs.5480.

My 2003 Palio ELX wouldn't crank up suddenly one day - its Amco DIN44 battery has passed away. The neighbourhood battery service guy confirmed its death, declaring "The main cell has died. You have no option but to replace the battery."

Seeing most people swearing by Amaron's reliability, I decided to give it a try. Headed to the nearest Amaron PitStop and hit upon a situation - They stocked only DIN45 and DIN55. But not DIN50 which I wanted (since it was the OEM as many people in this forum had said). He said the usual story, his manual suggests DIN45 for Palio, blah blah. I struck upon a deal whereby I could take home both a DIN45 and DIN55 so that I could fit DIN55 if possible, else settle with DIN45. To my disappointment, by car's battery bay could not hold a DIN55. So settled for the DIN45. He quoted a price of Rs.5480 for it, while he would take also buy my old battery for Rs.400.

At the end of the day, I purchased an Amaron FLO, DIN45 Battery with 48 Months warranty (the usual pro-rata after 24 months) for Rs.5000 at Chennai, in exchange for my old Amco DIN44.

Re: Palio Battery options DIN50/DIN55 and manufacturers

Bringing back a old thread!

My car was unused for a while and now the car starts only with dhakka start! The battery is OEM 6+ years old. I don't want to be stuck in traffic and do a dhakka start again.

For the 1.2NV Sport what is recommended DIN45/50/55? I am running upgraded lights and a slightly powerful ICE setup.

OEM was Amaron and I am kindda leaning towards Amaron again.

Any recommendations for models/dealers here in BLR?

Re: Palio Battery options DIN50/DIN55 and manufacturers

I am running DIN50 in my GTX, Bottle is running DIN55 in his 1.6 Stile` - DIN55 Exide may require a small modification of the battery base (not that important if secured right).

DIN55 is the best bet. Manual suggest DIN50
