1.3, OHC 2000 model - Steering issue

Hi fellas,

I am new to this forum. Feels good to be here.

Well I am having trouble with my OHC's steering - on and off that is.

Had put in new Good yr tyres ( stock ) this monsoon and after I had done so, a few days later my steering got stiffened. The stiffness was obviously felt due to the Power steering. It lasted for a week or so and then it came back to normal???
And the same cycle continued during the monsoon for 3 - 4 times.

But now the car is running absolutely fine. i.e after the monsoon..

What would have triggered off the stiffness???

Check your steering damper.
If it's not adjusted properly, sometimes steering becomes tight.

Where is the steering damper located in OHC. Can we adjust the steering gearbox in OHC.

I think its a common thing with the OHC. Even i find that the steering to be a bit stiff when its raining or very cold outside, but on a hot afternoon (or once the car has really warmed up), the steering is butter smooth and gives very good feedback.

Same thing goes for the suspension. Maybe dry heat does something to the fluid.

the same thing happens in my indica as well, i guess the water and mud combo makes the ball joints/moving parts stiff, a good pressure wash later and everything is smooth again
