I'm addressing issues one by one, the first thing on the cards as you would have guessed is the powersteering, rattles will be attended next, after that a coolant check and then down to khalsa college(being a student of hindu college, I spend half my day in that area)

I finally went to my local mechanic and he fixed the problem for me and has given me a guarantee that if the oil starts leaking again he will do the job free of cost. The total damage was about 2.5k but I am not sure what other parts he has changed except the oil seals. GTO also faced a similar issue with his VTEC and got it repaired from a local garage.

If you want peace of mind then I suggest you get the steering rack replaced from Maruti and since the steering rack for OHC costs 16K I am guessing the rack for the Baleno should be costing somewhere around that as well
I don't think I want to spend that amount on something that can be repaired, besides my car has cng, maruti finds that the best excuse to void all my warranty claims, 'saar, cng laga hai'.
Nope, no more approaching maruti.

steering oil issue now repaired!

I sent my baleno today to dariyaganj,i couldn't accompany my driver because of the ongoing delhi university exams but had to get the work done because managing without the baleno was a little difficult.I hope the repairs last,he's given a guarantee of 3 months though he assured me that nothing would go wrong and if it did,he'd fix it later as well.

total time including travel- 8 hours.

total expenditure(as per reliable driver)- Rs 3245.

cost breakup(prepared by driver)
repairs- Rs 3000

oil- Rs 120

packing(something to do with assembly)- Rs 40

chai pani- Rs 30

rickshaw- Rs 40

kela(bananas)- Rs 15.

as per driver, place is doing crazy amounts of business with steering racks going in and out every minute. They have a deal with another shop who do the removal and fitting of the steering rack. they have dozens of machines and different people check different parts of the rack.

that's it for now. thanku for all your assistance.

ac issue to be diagnosed and hopefully dealt with tomorrow.
