Gear lever console getting heated up in my Safari TCIC

Hello everybody, this is my first post on Team BHP, I recently got a 2000 model Safari TCIC 4x4 and am very excited about it. I have read so may threads about ownership and feedback and travelogues and always wanted a Safari, 4x4 ofcourse couldent afford a new one, so settled for a very good condition. I shall post my experience and pictures soon under the appropriate section soon, but first things first, driving on the beach, and even on highways, I have noticed the plastic console where the gear lever is mounted in the cabin gets hot. Is this normal? or is there something wrong? Need help

Hot Air from the engine is leaking inside, you need to check from the engine side the the underbelly. Plug any holes and open areas.

Thank You Dadu, have given the truck to the mechanic, to check, let me see, I was worried if it has anything to do with the excessive use of the 4x4, since i did spend a lot of time with the car on the beach on both low and high mode.
