Indeed, its a super opportunity to learn workshop basics. There's a good number of BHPians who are looking at a career in the industry, or starting off their own shop. The exposure alone makes this program well worth it. For those who didn't know where to start, this is it.

Thanks to the petrolhead who dropped us an email with information on these programs.

That is something.

One point about all the 3 courses is that these are full time courses, run over a few months. But this should actually make the coverage quite comprehensive.

The Service Training Program for Auto Engineers course seems to be made for the buddy service center owner.

Would love to see something tailor-made for people like us.

The only drawback is that all these are weekday courses. Any place for us enthusiasts who have a regular job but want to learn the basics?

@Condor, you beat me by a few seconds

That's why its best for freshers. Freshers who are just out of school, don't have another job and can afford to invest the time. Navnit won't offer part-time programs for us enthusiasts, as this course is supposed to be a feeder to their service network.

Why would you go for servicing in Thane when you are put up in Mumbai?

I used to drive from Dombivli to Malad (2 hours at best, ordinarily 2.5 hours, one way) to service my M800 with Spectra. I must have burnt more money on the petrol than the paid up service cost.

Dippy, thanks for the information on the course. If finances allow, I might go for the basic course at least.

I am particularly impressed by the respected Col Gogate, who has instructed Mr Gidwani to ask me to come down personally so they can assess my grasping abilities, as I don't have an automobile/engg background. Neat work I say.

Only question before me is is there a good career ahead if I decide to spend Rs. 6000/-

GTO, I am one such person. Did Automobile engineering, and ended up in IT. Looking to quit one of these days, for higher studies (MBA). Was thinking about getting some auto-industry course under the belt, as i dont want to end up again in IT.

Do you think such a course would be worth the time/money/effort?

Haven't been to Mumbai. How good are Navnit motors?
