Sorry, but can't really think of a 300-500 cc Petrol producing just 9-10 bhp .

What project are you working on anyway? You've got me curious now.

If it's ok for you to have more power, I'd recommend a Royal Enfield 350 or 500, they're really nice and torquey and easy to take care of.

Hmmm... Something tells me its for something like the BAJA SAE.
Anyways, the best and most pocket friendly will be the RE series engine. And getting hold of a good Yamaha or Honda engine will not only be difficult but will also command a nice price (read a lot). Try Karol Bagh and Mayapuri. You may just get lucky.

You could try used genset engines though they won't be as powerful but can be easily sourced. The other option if you can go for a 2 stroke is to use old scooter engines. Easily available and the power ranges would match what you need. It is possible to source 4 strokers from defunct models like the Kinetic Nova, the older generation Bajaj scooters(Legend) etc but it would require some effort and luck.

Hmm.. Lombardini LG-340.

Sounds like BAJA SAEINDIA.
Right?

I suppose you can't use anything else, as thats the rule.

See his intro here
But I'm wondering on the basic requirements going not right on 300CC engines not available in India, 500CC with 21HP motor availability.

IMHO, the requirements are not posted in detail & are available as one word which is very difficult to understand.

^^^ That sounds little sarcastic to me; we're willing to help, the only question we had to you was, be little more descriptive about your project & requirements & I'm sure you can fly out with colors in your project.

Seems quite strange!! If you need more help then give us complete details , even I had been awarded at national level for my automotive car project in my college time ;-) The name of my Vehicle was MANI-VS (Multile Fuel Automated Nibbled Integrated Vehicle System) Sounds quite complicated

But more you explain more we will help as it is directly proportional
