Noise from my Palio 1.9D's Odo

Hi all,

My Palio has now done about 65,000KMs and since the last couple of thousand kilometers, there has been a noise from the Odo meter. I eventually figured out that this is from the odometer and comes when the Odo is spinning. I think this has got to do with wear and tear but is there a way to fix this? Like replacing the Odo cable perhaps? The noise is not much and cannot be heard over my loud music system but is certainly a bother to me and would really like to fix it. Please also let me know if this is something I can DIY.

No mechanical inputs are given to Palio's odo. It gets electrical input, a motor inside rotates and it drives the odometer and speedometer. (As seen in 2006 retro Palio)

Ok, thanks for all the responses. I think I got the picture now after reading the other thread about how much a new one costs. Mine atleast works.

I will just turn up the audio volume to drown out the sound of the ODO.
