Diesel pump howl in Ambassador

Hello Friends and experts,
My father's car is an old Ambassador Mark IV and recently the diesel pump (rotary type), Lucas CAV started howling in low revs. Step on the pedal a little bit and the howling is gone. Is it a clogged diesel filter or should we raise funds for a new diesel pump?

Diesel Pump can be easily serviced at specialized shops, no need to buy one.

We got the diesel pump kit changed one year back when diesel started to puddle below the car and also seeped into the engine. Does Lucas TVS has got an authorized dealer / service center in Kerala?

I took the car to the authorized HM dealer and they remarked that the howl is due to a stuck valve and they advised to tune up the engine. Any idea?

Hi

hi,
Pumps are one of the main part in the engine systems.
If you have already serviced before one year means,no need to do it again. As your Meachnics said Adjust the valve.

Valve settings are the main one for the pick up in the car.If HM Isuze or Imported Isuzu means it will have overhead Cam.
So we want to remove the valve door cap (lies in the topof the engine). There the adjustment need to be done.
The mechanics will have the blades to adjust this.It will take 15 minutes only.Checkit and then you drive for a trial for around 10-15kms.
If its still persists ,Pump need to be changed.

Update this thread after your valve adjustment.

Thanks for the help SirAlec and Maheshkumar

I got the engine tune up done at the HM authorized dealer and also got the diesel filters changed. They have done a wonderful job and now there is no howling sound. The engine is a lot more quiet and the pulling has also increased.
