Funny, Skoda website says nothing about any sort of electronic nannying, except for ABS:
Skoda Auto India

The BSM website states otherwise, mentions Anti-Slip Regulation, Skoda talk for traction control: BS Motoring

Over zealous motoring hacks? Or, over stressed Skoda website team?

So what you guys are telling me is that tehre is no ESP/TCS switch in the indian vRS.
Duncan, can you tell me what the second switch from the left on the center console of the few vRS you have parked in your showroom for? Or maybe turn the manual to page 83, 84 and 85.
To me it reads out ESP. I think last time i read it....

Riders don't have TCS. Neither do the vRS(s).

Note the difference:
TDi = Diesel
TPi (rider?) = Petrol (Was launched a few months after the vRS. Its the same engine as the vRS, but without all the bells and whistles on the car)

Where did you find this thread...? Its so old I didnt even remember it ...
Anyhow..I really dont rememember now, it was over 2 years ago..now I am sure that car is god knows where, or it could have been something else and I would have been mistaken...

Anyway maybe the European Version has the TCS button and thats why it is in the mannual. Maybe when I test drove the car I was over whlemed by it so much that I must have mistaken something else for it.
Now I have a 1.8TPI and it doesnt have the TCS button I really couldnt care less, I love to hear the tires squeeeeal...and the turbo whilsle over the growl...

Cheers,

I did that some on my then 9yr old Honda Prelude (which I had about 6 yrs ago). Had to replace the gear-box after that.

if all you want to know is what that button does (and not whether it is there or not):

it turns off the TCS so that computer doesn't do any traction control for you and you are on your own. Some symbol will light up (and stay on) on your instrument panel to warn you that TCS is off.

i don't know about vRS, but Laura L&K has ESP, which is TCS plus few more buzz words. and it works.. like when drive with half on tarmac and half on gravel.
