Oil check light glows in 118NE, AFTER removing key

Hi Guys

I have a Premier 118 NE which I have been using for the last 4 months regularly.Recently I encountered a problem with it. Whenever I switch off the car ignition the oil check light starts to glow and continues even after taking out the key from the slot. Hence I checked both the engine oil and the brake oil. Both are upto the mark. But this glowing is in turn draining out the battery as the light stays illuminated. Any kind of pointers as to how i can identify the problem would be really helpful.

Mods if there is already a similar thread existing please merge it accordingly.

Thanks

Can it be some sort of a electrical malfunction? I am sure no lights should glow once the ignition is off and key removed

Sounds like a wiring shorting, get it checked by a qualified electrician at the earliest. Its not safe to drive around with a shorted wiring.

The oil pressure switch/earthing could be the culprit.

Your oil pr. switch is getting a 12V supply direct - please get the ignition switch checked.

Meanwhile , till you get this sorted out , please keep your battery negative disconnected whenever the car is idle
