It depends on the header design.

Header is 4x2x1

I couldn't find any info on gas velocity and exhausts other than mere mentions about it.

Yes. Linking to that particular site is apparently not allowed, so it's best that the original authors share their pics. It's a pity that none of the BHPians apart from me and SRK were present at the meet (apologies if I didn't recognise anyone else), for reasons best not shared openly. However, it was still very nice to see a bunch of guys getting excited after having their cars dynoed and showing anywhere between 8-20% gains over stock just after changing the air intakes.

This is the picture of the AIR

The stock Power/Torque curves are smooth, but the one's after the AIR are kind of in steps.

Though there is a noticeable increase in the Torque & Power, does this mean that power delivery is not "smooth"?

Is that silicone piping for the intake?

Pranav - I was there na. I missed meeting you dude. I was there for the meet right from the beginning till the end. I also has a chance to meet SRK as well. Had seen his work on one of the threads earlier.

BTW, apart from the dyno figures, the Punto owner confirmed that the drivability of his car had improved to a great extent. The side effect - intake growl on the car was just music to the ears.
All in all, a very nice meet and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Praful - dyno graph does not look smooth but in real driving condition is does not appear the same way. The power delivery does not change so abruptly that you will feel it as such.

Yes that is silicon piping which is the important part of the AIR

Smoothing factors seem to be different.

@Kailash: Can you ask Peter if he knows what RPM steps Karan's dyno measured in? Also, let me know when we're meeting again.

This just goes to show that calculated & measured modifications can yield so much more than the run-of-the-mill products we have all been exposed to. Well, I am looking forward to do a lot more on the AIR front. I have returned to Europe and hope to be back soon. In the meantime I am evaluating a lot of new stuff.

Wonderful thread - Am going to explore AIR options for better low end torque on my 2112cc diesel motor pumping 62 bhp and 12 kgm.

Any pointers

Wow. Just stumbled on this thread. So Air Intake Revision is a combination of air intake placement and plumbing plus a non-OEM air filter?

Will it be possible to do the same in a Civic? As you might know, the current civic sucks air from a snorkel next to the battery. From there it goes to the resonator box placed below the battery, then upwards to the air filter box. The system is designed to reduce engine noise at low RPM and increase engine note to sporty tunes at high RPM. But the convoluted air passage means loss of engine performance as folks have found out after hacking away the resonator box. Can we improve the current system by AIR?
