Opel Astra MPFI Light

Dear Friends,

I have a 2000 model 1.6L Astra Club Class. There is some electrical problem, suddenly the MPFI Light on the Dashboard continues to glow even when it is running.

I got the alternator and ignition coil changed recently. Where could the problem be?

Any help is appriciated.

shanks

Re: Opel Astra MPFI Light

I do not have the exact problem in my Opel Corsa; but at times, after starting the engine, the MPFI light just remains. I turn off-turn on the engine till the light goes off.

I asked a S.E. about it, he checked the system by connecting the car to their diagnostic tool and found nothing wrong.

No fix as such!

If there are'nt any after effects of the MPFI light glowing, lets hope its probably some loose terminal @ the IP. Suggest you to get it checked it the A.S.C or a reputed independent electrician. Those delicate parts can be easily damaged if not done carefully.

A friend had a similar problem when the glow plug light would come on every now and then, until it was traced to a loose terminal wire at the IP.

Thanks buddy for the info, I feel so. I am getting it checked by TVS Multi Brand Garage at Mysore hope they do a good job, will update.

One of our member had sometime mentioned about some add-on to the car to increase the FE. Any idea?

Re: Opel Astra MPFI Light

Dear Dear I finally got it sorted out. My friend Jeeva was right it was a loose terminal connector below the coil on the engine block, no idea what it is but the connector sure goes inside the engine and may be some feedback circuit
