Re: '07 Honda City ZX nearly caught fire!

I think you need to take it with the manager at Dakshin and also talk to Honda directly. Not that you are complaining about the dealership but this can lead to help others or another recall. I think a few clicks of the smoke in the car would have given Honda a few sleepless nights. I think Honda will direct the dealership to do the work FOC.

Further I would suggest a change or critical check of complete wiring.

All the best!

4,500 for just switches?. Pretty costly.

Does they have one touch up/down feature?.

It has but only on the driver side window. With anti-pinch.

Re: '07 Honda City ZX nearly caught fire!

Finally, got a call from Honda and they are ready to look at my car and take care of the necessary repair required.
Will be fixing an appointment with Whitefield Honda and visiting them this week.

Scary to note that it happened in your Esteem and that too thrice. My Esteem is a little over 7 years now and thankfully I have not had this problem. But since you mentioned, let me be cautious about it.

Re: '07 Honda City ZX nearly caught fire!

As of todays update, I received call from HSCI Regional Manager for Karnataka and he promised to inspect my car and take care of the repair. I've fixed appt. with Magnum Honda, Kanakpura Rd, Bangalore and will be visiting them tomorrow.

Let's see how it goes. Will post about my experience after tomorrow.

Re: '07 Honda City ZX nearly caught fire!

At Magnum Honda, I got the power window switch assembly replaced. HSCI did this FOC for me. There was no fault in the wiring. Even the front head lamp was fine.

Looks like there were some carbon deposit at the connection in the head lamp assembly due to which Head lamp was not working properly.

Thanks to Honda for listening to me.
