Nanu, my stock RS does the following RPM/Speed in 5th gear:
2000 RPM = 80 KM/hour
4000 RPM = 160 KM/hour
This 'multiple of 4, If I may call it that, remains constant. I have never taken it beyond 160, so cant comment on what RPM should be at 180 kmph."

Where are you located in Pune, maybe we can drive eachothers and see if there is a difference...mine is completly stock except the GB and K&N.

Just curious, what's the RPM @ 160 in 4'th?

As far as I remember it still has enough revs even in 4th at 160 to pull hard enough. Redlining it in 4th and you will be closer 200 if not more.
Actually I have relocated to Mumbai last year, but am too lazy to change my profile.
Anand, thanks for the compliment. Yes the car still looks like just-out-from-a-showroom. Its yours for 10 lacs only.
Whats it with Skoda in India, they seem to set your heart aflutter when new and give you a heart attack when broken down. I think the service personnel are clueless and company is happy keeping the clients clueless, as high bills keep raking in the moolah. Else where in the world it's seen as a reliable solidly built car. I also feel VW wants clients to choose VW over Skoda, so as such are turning a blind eye to the woes of Skoda owners.
....just checked its about 5500-5800 rpm in the 4th at 160kmph
