If you overhaul,Surely you will not face the starting troubles. My uncle fitted A/C, power steering for it and still it was a trouble free engine.

Almost more then 80% of the Ambassadors has fitted this engines.First Engine change was done by CAG,coimbatore. They are the first to replace the petrol to diesel engines. (F305 engines).
Hi i have a used ambassador with matador engine. I bought it for my dad who is a fan of ambassador's. I am planning on completely overhauling the whole vehicle, from shell painting, interiors, engine upgrade to isuzu G1 diesel. Since you have already done these, could you please help me out?

Ya sure...Working with Amby alws great.
Since you are in chennai you can get G1 engines very easily...Pudhupetai is the main area.
There are 2 types of G1 engines.Old one will have a bit big naussil tube...
When your process get start, kindly open a new post from your end and update the process.

F 305 matador DI engine

I came across this engine while looking for a gen set in the local scrap market. It has the F305 block with direct injection head and the F stamping on the tappet cover. The inlet manifold is also different from the normal IDI F305 engine. It is coupled to a Greaves 15 kw alternator running at 3000 rpm.The set has been removed from sound proof canopy.I asked the dealer for the engine alone for a jeep, but he will only sell the complete set for which the price was 85000/-.The pics are attached.

Re: F 305 matador DI engine

The engine, perhaps, was made by Force for Greaves gen sets with a 3000RPM speed governor. This engines may be developed from the one used in cars. If could be similar to engines once installed in many Ambassadors in the early 90s. If yes one can get a better engine with an Ambassador car for less than Rs 50K

Re: F 305 matador DI engine

What is surprising is why Force Motors did not introduce this engine in the market for repowering of different vehicles.Could any member check if this engine is available as brand new with the company.Because weight wise this should be very light, and had a good record earlier.

Re: About the Matador F-305 engine

As per the name plate the engine develops only 22.5 BHP which is way too less.
The engine was available as new in those yester-years. Regarding the present, perhaps, TBhpian Skyline GT-R could throw light here as he is with Force Motors.

Re: About the Matador F-305 engine

The original F-305 was an indirect injection with a diaphragm FIP,while this is a direct injection engine with a mechanical FIP.I want the info regarding this engine and not the older model.DI engines do not have the starting problems which the older engines had. Hope Skyline GT-R can help out with this.
