How easy is it to drive the petrol Verna 1.6l in city traffic. Does it demand frequent gear changes? |
Driving any car(but an automatic) is a pain in heavy city traffic. I have never felt greatly troubled though. The car pulls easily in both 1st and 2nd gears and the clutch is thankfully not too heavy.

Seriously - only 23K? ORR Advaith SAs & Service guys kept on referring to a total spend of 80K!!! :Shockked:
I was left wondering, these guys are worse than Honda & Ford guys, charging exorbitant amounts for any accessories / after market fitments. |
Ok , this is funny. I remember reading an estimate of 17k somewhere on the forum lol:
80k is just insane! that's nearly 8% of the car's value.

Just saw the price on the sa computer, price of per projector lamp is 44k, means 88k for the pair. Normal is for 3.5k. Projector lamps are damn too expensive.
Just got my car back from 1st service, total spend inr 0. I was not able to reproduce any thud noise, so couldn't convince the SA about the same.
It was nice and quick experience at SUNRISE hyundai, SA was well informed. Met some senior manager, he confirmed the price of projector lamps to be 88k for the pair.

88k is just atrocios ! we are better off in the after market projectors retrofits or ready made kits. I got mine all the way from US. Check it out

As I mentioned in my last post that I was not able to convince the SA regarding the thud noise and couldn't get the part replaced but surprisingly the thud noise has completely gone. Car is so absolutely noise less when going over the same bumps.
I remember he said, sir there is nothing wrong with coil spring we have tightened some screws. Don't know what has been done but difference is easily noticeable.

Wow, this looks very good, unlike those cheap ones, looks classy. Let me get some time, may be I will also look into such options. Remember car plus guy was telling me that they have plenty of options. He is the most reputed one in East delhi area.

You need to open the cover inside the boot lid, fairly easy and all instructions for replacing the numberplate lights are given in the user manual.
I changed mine to 6000K led last year and below is what i ordered, works like a charm clap:

The 2014 Verna SX (O) has started it's arrival in the showrooms.
This is the first one for my city's dealership, Shivnath Hyundai. Received a call to come and check it out in person, so I paid them a visit earlier in the morning today.
The variant is the CRDi SX (O).

Whole rear section.
Chrome door handles are now specific to the SX (O).
Driver door handle, with sensor. With the Smart Key in your pocket, simply tap this to open.
Supervision Cluster. Specific to the SX (O) as well.
Start/Stop button. Looks classy from close.
The location of the button.
The USB port.
The USB cable provided with the SX (O), available separately.

Side & curtain airbags are back.

I am now looking to find the OEM alloy wheels that go on the Fluidic SX(O), does anyone know where one can find them in Delhi? Apart from the showroom who are charging a bomb for it.

Olx and quikr. Also check our team-bhp classifieds.
On a separate note, can anyone tell if the elantra five spoke alloys are compatible with verna please: I always liked the 5 spoke ones.
Guys, tonight while coming back from a friends place I had an incident. I was comfortably driving the car at the speed of 95 kmph (limit on that road is 100) when suddenly I spotted a pothole, couldn't break hard as another car was trailing me. Front left tyre got over the pothole, there was a laud thud noise and wiper started on its own. From outside I can't see any damage, even I can't feel any difference while driving it. Shall I still get it checked or let it go. I'm worried because the noise was very very laud.

There may not be any issue if everything looks okay. Check for any leakages in the undercarriage. However, for your mental satisfaction, you may get it checked if you felt the noise was significant.
Ravi suggest you get it checked. I had a similar incident driving towards Nanjangud. Nothing major but my fender was dislodged.
Of late I am getting a booming engine noise inside the car @ 1800 rpm, vanishes thereafter. Has any one experienced this , what could be the possible reasons ?
Hi All,
This may be way out of line, but is it possible to buy the automatic and add the elantra's automatic gearbox (so that there are 6 gears)?
And then add a paddle shift steering?
Is this too much to ask for?
