@mayank: I know its frustrating after all this is the only SPARK (as far as i know) on tbhp with an FFE. To add to the frustration, i own a SPARK too

Give our man sometime here, first time parenting is indeed CRAZY.

I think once the baby grows up, we can ask that baby itself to put up the pics. Father is very busy :P

Any idea what is the PCD of Spark. Is it same with Swift.
Planning for Spark in near future. Can I swap my 14" Alloys/Steel rims from Swift into Spark.

Whoa!! Suddenly the thread has gotten alive and I did not even notice. One of the few effects of parenting!

3rd gear - upto 70kmph
4th gear - 80+kmph
5th gear - till the speed the car can withstand!!!

Please note these are the speeds i have taken the car to. You might be able to take it further depending on how you treat your machine.

@quadra - Thanks for asking. Kid is doing fine! Taking up all the time and like you said first time parenting is not just CRAZY but downright SCARY at times!! We have had our fair share of shocks and panics!!

The whole set up cost me approx. 20k. I think the filter cost me around 5.5k IIRC.

@mayank & ani - Mea Culpa!! Understand your sarcasm and frustration guys. The kid is taking up ALL the time and have not even got the time to collect the filter which I had given for cleaning after 10k kms of running it. So the car is currently grounded. I will try and take time out and post the pics.

@Latheesh - Good if you wait for the maintenance period to get over with. They cannot deny any claim blaming it on the mods.

Latheesh can best answer the query since he has alloys on his spark. I don't think its the same as Swift AFAIK.

An update from my side: I have been driving the car literally every weekend for 500kms. The car has completed 20k kms. Due for a service which is scheduled on 10th Dec. Car still feels tight with just a few rattles on bad roads from the rear which could be due to the FFE. Need to get it checked. Apart from that the interiors have held up well for 20k kms and still feel fresh. No complaints what so ever. The mods have certainly added the fun factor to the car and in the city i drive it like an Auto box in 3rd gear.

After the mods and getting to understand the car better, I drive on the highways at a steady 90-95kmph. The car cruises effortlessly. And the clincher is the FE. Have been getting a steady 21kmpl +/- 1 kmpl depending on AC usage. This was measured tankful to tankful and was checked for around 6 trips. Only on 2 other trips when i was driving with a heavy foot did it return around 17.5kmpl with 50% AC. Phenomenal and hats off to EngineCal for pulling it off!! Kudos to them!

Oh boy! Thanks a lot for putting them up mate. Indebted to you. You also heard the car so i guess you know how it sounds now!! Might prompt you to go ahead with the mods as well

20,000KMS Service Update:

The service happened on 10th Dec 2011. It is chaotic at Trident what with Sundaram breaking ties with GM. The service center is taking around 60 cars per day for service and they are spilling over to the next day, missing the delivery time promised etc. My car was priority no. 2 when i reached at 8:40AM. Washing done by around 11:00. Underbody not washed at all!! No point asking them to do it again. The car was lying in the parking till 4:00 with an ignorant service adviser just running about without doing/achieving much. Finally i ventured into the workshop and spoke to the head mech and got my car assigned to a service bay to be worked upon. No oil change in this service. Just the routine checks, Fuel Filter change, WB and WA and general checks. This was completed in about 50 minutes flat. Head mech checked the car and it was ready for final wiping before delivery. This took another 35 minutes and finally by 7:00PM the car was delivered!!!

Now another significant update is about the engine oil. The SA and head mech are "claiming" that the oil used in Spark is a 15W30 Synthetic oil. Since the oil had done close to 8000kms after the previous change, i went in for Castrol Magnatec 10W40. Boy, there is a sea of difference. The NVH has improved by leaps and bounds. It revvs freely in all gears and plasters a wide grin every time I revv!

Happy with magnatec for now and will be shifting to OWS 10W40 in about 5000kms.

Gautam (quadra) thanks again for the pics! Let me know if you still want the stock exhaust.

OMG!!21kmpl on highway for a petrol is good. Not good but very very good.
I would sure like to hear the sound from the exhaust, like everyone else here. Please put it up as soon as you get time.
Also , if you can share the contact details of EngineCal!!

Thanks! And yes i was surprised the initial 2 times and did not post here until i verified it repeatedly. Only after about 6 trips of similar driving style and 2 trips of driving with heavy foot, did i conclude that indeed it has settled down around the 21KMPL range. But these are all on same roads so different roads/ghats might yield different figures.

Also added to the fact that I am not revving the nuts off the car on the highways and driving at constant 90-95 range barring the slow downs for speed breakers. A smooth driving style is leading to such good figures. The best i had managed on stock car with such driving style was 18.5kmpl on the same road.

We did not get a chance to click the headers as by that time Quadra's car needed attention at the SVC. Will shortly be meeting him if he decides to pick up my stock exhaust. We will click some for sure during that meet.

Even I got fuel efficiency around 20-21 Kmpl on highway trips(100% A/C). But in city I usually get around 12-14 Kmpl(90% A/C).

BTW are using premium or regular petrol? I recently switched from regular to Shell Super, and there was a drastic change in the initial throttle response.
