Re: Dream come true - My All New Honda City iVTec VMT

Thanks a ton.

Some other nice features whic i missed out:
  • One can view the digital odometer on the HU display by pressing 3 buttons simultaneously on the music system. (please dont expect it to be like Civic)
  • There is a rubber padding in the HU console to keep thumb dives/iPOD etc to reduce shock
  • The cabin light remains on till the time the doors are locked which is good
  • Great visibility through the huge windshield and minimal blind spots with the rear pillars
  • The cabin noise is pretty less - thanks to the Michelin XM1 tyres.
  • The rear view mirror provides complete view.
Some more features that could have been better:
  • The spare wheel is not an alloy
  • There are no pre-outs in the OEM HU. So, one has to connect a Hi-line converter (Scoshe/Audison) in order to plug an Amp - when I checked with the dealer, i was told that such connection with void the electric system.
  • The jack which comes with the car needs a big upgrade
Will share the pics soon.

Re: Dream come true - My All New Honda City iVTec VMT

Congratulations Venkateshs and welcome to the ANHC club.
Now a days it is very difficult to see an ANHC buyer thanks to the high cost of petrol.
Honda is the only car company in India that seriously suffers in car sales for not having even a single diesel car in their line up.
Wake up Honda, already the competition has eaten you.
Buddy unless your next post is with pictures, you will not be forgiven.
Any plans to upgrade on the tires and please share your experience of using the ANHC for 3k KM and how much of the IVTEC have you exploited.

Well this is an interesting feature and I guess nobody was aware of it. I will try this tomorrow. Do this display only ODO reading? It would have been great if this can show SPEEDO reading in digital format.

PS - How you found this feature?

This has been known for long say about 2 years.
It first appeared on one of the Thai Honda ANHC forums.

Remember, if you activate this feature the music system cannot be used when it is in speedometer mode.

Yes, it does show the Speedometer reading in digital format. when you activate this, the music system will not work.

Rs. 10, 200 in Mumbai, inclusive of installation. Would be in the same range in Bangalore too.
